I just ... Ree is busy, and she said I should let you know how far we are. She said we're probably going to try and pick up the pace the next couple days, she doesn't like going too slow the closer we get.

What's going on? I heard there's a fire in the granary district, has anybody gone to look yet? If nothing's going on, we can't really afford to just drop everything and go, but if anything is happening, we need to -- we need to try and stop it! Can

Verity and Lysander! I think those were your names? Can you tell us if you've heard anything? By the time it gets to us up here everything is so scrambled, it's hard to tell if it's true or just trying to get us to bring Lord Henry out ...

Okay, I think we have something.

Lord Henry agreed to come survey the city tomorrow. He'll have me and Kray and Ree and some of his personal guard with him, so he shouldn't be in any danger. But I think really seeing the city will help him see that this isn't a joke and he needs to get out of here. And if we're lucky we might be able to get him and his stupid advisor split up for a little while, so we can talk to him by ourselves.

I really think this is going to work! Then we can figure out what to do once he knows that Kasrae isn't safe for him anymore.

Ugh!

This wouldn't be half as hard to handle if Lord Henry's advisor wasn't so awful. Did you know I heard him telling Lord Henry that all the reports of things in the city were exaggerated? All the reports! Even the ones we brought him, and it's not like we'd have any reason to lie about this stuff! We keep telling Lord Henry that things aren't safe here and he needs to get out of the city, but I just know that the minute we leave the room he turns around and his advisor tells him something completely different!

This is so frustrating!

And Lord Kray and Dame Ree, I know I shouldn't butt in, but neither of you is making this any easier, you know! How are we supposed to get through to him if you two can't even agree on anything? It's like not only is he hearing something different from his advisor, but he's hearing two different stories from both of you and it's not getting us anywhere! Can you stop fighting for a little, until we can get him to agree to leave the city?

I still can't really believe this is happening.

I mean, all the news we're getting is so -- This can't be happening, that's all. The way everybody looks sick around here is just so --

But, um, I can't believe I'm getting a promotion for this. I mean, everything just is moving so fast. I didn't think I'd ever be leaving Rayla at all, but here I am, getting Eadyth ready to go ...

I hope it's not all as bad as everybody's saying it probably is. It can't be that bad ... It's not like anybody here's seen it. It's all just people guessing, that's all.

That has to be all.

I guess I don't know why I'm writing here when I need to be getting ready to go, but I can't stop pacing and all the questions keep running around my head ... I guess I was hoping this would make them stop. Maybe I'll feel better once we're in the air.
